Supreme Court Extended the Sale of BS4 Engines

The last date of the Registration and sale of BS4 engine was 31st March.

Due to the current situation in the country, the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association(FADA) demanded the extension for the registration and sale of the BS4 engines. For this FADA went to court for the extension.

Currently, the whole country is in lockdown state, only essential commodities are only allowed for the sale.

On March 27, in a video meeting hearing, FADA legal counselors introduced the case to Supreme Court Justice Arun Mishra and Justice Deepak Gupta.

They featured the stock issue, which had worsened because of the lockdown and can’t be cleared until it is lifted.

Accordingly, considering the ‘special circumstances’ the court gave an extension of 10 days, post the progressing lockdown.

Dealer can sell their vehicles

The decision implies once the lockdown is lifted on April 14, vendors would have a 10-day window (till April 24) to get out their stock of unsold cars, bikes, and commercial vehicles.

In any case, it’s important that the court has said that businesses would just be permitted to sell 10% of the unsold stock and the extension is not applicable in Delhi- NCR.

All the manufacturers are giving huge discount on there wide varieties of the car and bikes.
